A 45-year-old patient was admitted with hematemesis. He had history of alcoholic cirrhosis and of gastric bypass surgery. Upper GI endoscopy revealed blood to the esophagus with grade III esophageal varices. After washing and aspiration of the blood, variceal banding is performed. Endoscopy performed by Dr Mavrogenis Georgios, Dr Longheval Gérald, Grand Hôpital de Charleroi, Belgium.
