This patient is well known to the emergency department for being a “frequent flyer” due to his history of alcohol abuse. When asked why he was outside, he claims that he was trying to find his mother. However, his medical records show that his mother passed away 5 years ago from a myocardial infarction. His blood alcohol content is measured at 0.05%. Physical examination reveals a flat affect, and skin findings on his abdomen are shown in Figure A.
