A 65-year-old man presents to the urgent care clinic complaining of severe pain in his left knee that started last night. He has not had any trauma to the area. He has no prior medical conditions and has not had any surgeries. He is sexually active only with his wife of 40 years.

On exam, the knee appears erythematous. You obtain a radiograph of the knee (Figure A) and proceed with arthrocentesis.
