    • incidence linked to 
      • oral contraceptives
      • anabolic steroids
      • Von Gierke's glycogenosis
    • may rupture leading to severe intraperitoneal bleed
      • suspect if a weight lifter/athlete or pregnant woman suddenly becomes hypotensive
Evaluation
  • Ultrasound, CT
 
Treatment
  • Surgical
    • resection only if
      • danger of rupture
      • symptomatic
      • large amount of liver involved
